About

I have always been interested in beautiful interiors and antiques. When I was 23 years old, I was constantly on the look out for great pieces and happily swopped a holiday for an original swedish cupboard!

My style is clean and pure using original, preferably reclaimed materials. I like the authentic feel that only an original piece has to offer. The most important part of the design process for me is creating total cohesion between colours, materials and furnishings, which blend seemlessly with the house.

I started up The Dutch House, because I love to share my passion for beautiful furniture.

I was inspired by a lovely plate, hand painted with a great image of an old famous Delft Blue tile. I fell in love with the colours and because I am Dutch (although I have spent the last 20 years mainly in Belgium and the UK), the name takes people back to my roots.

The Dutch House is different because of the unique pieces. They are rare and because I am lucky enough to have contacts in France, Belgium, Sweden and the UK, I have a wide area from which I can source them. When I choose furniture it needs to be unusual and in perfect condition.
